FE Error Code
Condition:
The washer is overfilling. This is usually the result of a faulty water valve.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Inlet water valve assembly.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Close both water taps. To drain out any trapped water, power the washer back on, press the spin button until no spin is selected, and press the start/pause button. Once the washer has drained, restart the washing cycle. If the FE error code persists, the unit will require a professional service call.
OE Error Code
Condition:
The drain hose is probably kinked or clogged.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Drain hose or the drain pump.
How to fix the problem yourself:
If you notice an obvious kink in the drain hose, straighten it, and it should fix the problem. However, if it doesn’t clear the error code, there may be a clog in the hose. Check each section of the hose for clogs; if you find one, try removing the clog from the hose. If neither of these solutions fixes the problem, it may indicate a faulty drain pump. At this point, it’s best to request our expert help.
IE Error Code
Condition:
The washer isn’t able to fill with water for the load.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
The drain hose may be installed incorrectly, your supply taps may be closed, you may have a kinked or damaged inlet hose, or it could simply be a clogged inlet filter.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Start by checking for a clogged inlet filter. If this doesn’t work, check that your drain hose is installed correctly and that your supply taps are open. If you cannot clear the error code, contact us for same-day help.
UE or UB Error Code
Condition:
The load is unbalanced.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Drum unit of the washer.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Stop the machine and open the door. Move the clothing in the drum so the load is as evenly distributed as possible.
CL Error Code
Condition:
The CL error code isn’t an error code. This message lets you know that the child safety lock has been activated.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Child safety lock.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Touch the child lock button and hold your finger in place for at least 3 seconds. This should clear the code and allow you to continue using the washing machine. If this doesn’t work, it’s an indication of mechanical failure, and it’s best to request a visit from one of our repairmen.
LE Error Code
Condition:
The motor is locked out. This usually means that the load in the machine is too heavy and creates too much stress on the motor.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Washing machine motor.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Reduce the size of the load and hit the reset on the machine. We recommend contacting us for on-site service if this doesn’t clear the code.
LG Washer Model: WM2277HW SN: 407KW-02NNN
The hall sensor, also known as the rotor position sensor is part of the automated system of your washing machine. It helps the control board make sure that everything is running as it should. Basically, the hall sensor keeps an eye on the washer’s motor to ensure it is working correctly and at the correct time during your washing cycle
The hall sensor on LG washing machines monitors whether the motor is turning or not. When the control panel displays an “LE” error code, the hall sensor is telling the panel that the drum is not turning because the motor has failed or the wire harness connecting the hall sensor to the control panel has come loose. Checking to ensure the wire harness is secure on the hall sensor and testing the sensor can let you know whether the sensor needs to be replaced.
tCL Error Code
Condition:
The tCL error code is meant to let you know when to run the clean tub cycle. Over time, detergent and other residues can build up in the tub, marking your clothing.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Washing machine tub.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Start by ensuring the tub is empty, filling the detergent dispenser with bleach, and choosing the clean cycle option. If you still see the error code after running the cycle, contact Fix Appliances CA for further assistance.
dE Error Codes
Condition:
There are 3 different dE error codes, dE, dE1 and dE2. All are indications that the door was unable to lock for some reason.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Door locking mechanism.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Turn the machine off by pressing the power button and unplug your machine. Next, press and hold the Start/Pause button for 5 seconds. When you turn the machine back on, the circuit breaker will reset, and you should be able to close the door and lock it in place.
CE Error Code
Condition:
A short circuit in your machine.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Wiring, broken motor or power control board.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Power off your machine and unplug it for 10 seconds. Plug the machine back in and try to run a washing cycle. If this doesn’t clear the error code, it’s time to reach out for help.
Sud Error Code
Condition:
Too many suds in your load. The machine will automatically enter a suds-reducing cycle, which can take up to 2 hours.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Water hose or water line.
How to fix the problem yourself:
It’s possible that the Sud error code is being displayed because of a clog in your water hose or water line that’s causing a backup. First, clear the clog and rerun the cycle. If the problem persists, try reducing the amount of detergent you use in loads.
Cd Error Code
Condition:
CD is not a real error code. Instead, this is a message the machine displays to indicate the cool-down period after the drying cycle is complete.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Electronic control panel malfunction.
How to fix the problem yourself:
If your machine is functioning properly, you need no action. The code should clear once the cycle’s complete. If it doesn’t, it may indicate an electronic failure, and at that point, it’s best to request a service call. Before doing that, try unplugging your machine for 10 seconds first.
PE Error Code
Condition:
The water level sensor is not reading properly.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Water level sensor.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Unplug the machine for 10 seconds. Once you’ve done this, try and run another cycle. If the error code remains, contact us for service.
PF Error Code
Condition:
When you experience a power failure during your washing cycle, it’s a sign that the power to your machine has been disrupted during your load.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Washing machine cord, external power supply
How to fix the problem yourself:
This error code should clear on its own once power is fully restored — all you have to do is restart the cycle. However, if you continue to have a problem, check for a tripped breaker and confirm the cord is plugged in properly. If these solutions don’t help, the next step is to request a service call from Fix Appliances CA.
tE Error Code
Condition:
Indication of a heating error.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
The most common cause is a faulty Thermistor, which is a sensor that measures heat.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Unplug your machine for 10 seconds. When you plug the machine back in, hit and hold the spin speed button. Once you notice that No spin is highlighted, release the button. Once your machine is fully drained, you should be able to start a new washing cycle.
Time Does Not Advance Error Code
Condition:
The Time Does Not Advance error may happen for several reasons. For example, it may be because of the size of the load, the weight of the load, the amount of suds or water temperature. These can cause your washer to extend its cycle time, producing the error.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
A lid switch, timer, motor, water level controller, drain pump, and water inlet valve.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Reduce your load size and weight, use less detergent to reduce suds or unplug your machine for 10 seconds. Then, plug it back in and try again.
Buttons Do Not Respond Error Code
Condition:
The button you’re trying to press is unavailable for the current cycle or can’t be used simultaneously as another option.
Parts where possible failure may take place:
Control panel malfunction, child door lock enabled.
How to fix the problem yourself:
Try to use certain options separately. For example, you may also have the child door lock enabled. Clearing this will remove the error code.
